Engineer Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, affirmed that the economic measures taken by the state to correct the distortions in the selling prices of petroleum products had a positive impact on the petroleum sector's success in providing the financial resources necessary for the implementation of a number of development and modernization projects and raising the operational efficiency of infrastructure and refineries.

El Molla added that the petroleum geographic area in Alexandria is one of the bastions of the Egyptian refining industry, which contributes 45% of the total refining and petroleum manufacturing capacities, pointing out that a package of new projects is currently being implemented to develop and raise the efficiency of refineries by applying and using the latest technologies in the field of digital transformation and linking them to a unified system that helps in Taking the decision to reach the maximum possible rates of operating efficiency, pointing to the completion of the development work of the sea berths in the Petroleum Gouna in Alexandria Port to increase oil export and import outlets. For his part, Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development, praised the remarkable performance and progress witnessed by the Alexandria and Amreya Petroleum companies, and their achievement of distinguished business results with the support and follow-up of Eng.

 

Engineer Mohamed Sobhy, head of the Alexandria Petroleum Company, explained that the quantities of crude that were refined through the company’s plant amounted to about 5 million tons, to contribute to the provision of petroleum products worth about 48 billion pounds, which contributed to providing some of the local market needs of butane, naphtha, diesel, fuel, jet fuel, asphalt and distillates. Shamea and petroleum solvents, in addition to supplying oil companies (AMOC, ANRPK, ASPC and ILAAP) with their needs of raw materials feeding their projects, amounting to about $891 million. It managed about 792 thousand tons of asphalt, indicating that investments of about 602 million pounds were pumped during the year to implement projects for the replacement and renewal of production units and the development of security and safety systems, in addition to projects to develop and modernize the petroleum geographical area in Alexandria.

 

He pointed out that petroleum products (jet fuel, diesel, diesel, naphtha, distillates and liquid wax) worth about $375 million were exported to Italy, Spain, France, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Lebanon and Morocco.

 

For his part, Engineer Mabrouk Abdullah, head of the Al-Amriya Petroleum Refinery, explained that it has contributed to meeting some of the local market needs of various petroleum products and exporting the surplus of some products through refining quantities of crude estimated at more than 3 million tons during the year, and the production of butane reached 72 thousand tons and 938 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 440 thousand tons of petrol 80, 955 thousand tons of diesel, 96 thousand tons of kerosene, 53 thousand tons of base and special oils and paraffin wax, 54 thousand tons of alkyl benzene, and 18 thousand tons of raw wax For export, 64 thousand tons of special petroleum products, in addition to quantities of toluene and medicinal oil, bringing the achieved revenues to about 3 billion pounds. It also succeeded in increasing the investments implemented during the year to reach about 493 million pounds.
