Britain announces an increase in Corona injuries as schools return and restrictions are lifted


The British government announced today, Friday, that the increase in new daily infections with the Corona virus in the United Kingdom during the past month, after the lifting of most of the epidemic restrictions and with the reopening of schools and offices.


And the British Guardian newspaper reported on its website that the decision to return to schools came after about 49 million people were vaccinated, or 90% of the total adult population, with the first dose of the Corona vaccine, while 83%, or about 45 million people, were vaccinated with the second dose of the vaccine.


The newspaper pointed out that the number of trips made on UK roads and in public transport approached pre-pandemic levels as well; As office workers gradually returned to the city centres.


According to figures from the UK's Department for Transport, car journeys are only a few percentage points lower than the equivalent week in 2019, yet despite the rise in national rail and bus journeys, public transport use remains below pre-pandemic levels.
